FAQs

Car ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied to a vehicle's exterior. It chemically bonds with the paint to form a protective layer, shielding against UV rays, dirt, and minor scratches.

Its hydrophobic properties repel water and prevent staining, simplifying maintenance.

Ceramic coating enhances gloss and longevity, keeping your car looking newer for longer. Its durability reduces the frequency of waxing and polishing, making it a worthwhile investment for preserving your vehicle's appearance.

Graphene ceramic coating, unlike traditional ceramic coatings, incorporates graphene, a carbon-based material known for its exceptional strength and conductivity.

This addition enhances durability, heat resistance, and chemical resilience, offering superior protection against scratches, UV rays, and environmental contaminants.

Graphene coatings typically provide increased gloss and hydrophobicity compared to standard ceramic coatings.

While both offer protection, graphene ceramic coatings often deliver heightened performance and longevity.

Normally Graphene Ceramic Coatings cost more than Ceramic Coatings, but Hermosa has solved that problem but sourcing a high-quality Graphene Ceramic Coating for a price lower than most lower-grade Ceramic Coatings.

After nearly two years of rigorous testing involving over 50 ceramic coating products sourced from various regions including the USA, UK, Israel, Korea, China, and Japan.

We tested the coatings in extreme conditions ranging from +40 degrees to -40 degrees Celsius, we're excited to announce our discovery of a product that surpasses all expectations - Hermosa 10H Graphene Ceramic Coating.

Our criteria were stringent. We sought a product with 10H hardness, ensuring durability for a minimum of 5 years.

Additionally, we prioritised graphene-enhanced coatings for added resilience.

Like anything - if the instructions aren't followed then the coating can cause issues.

Improper application such as insufficient preparation, incorrect product application, or inadequate curing time may result in streaks or high spots as they are known. Additionally, contaminants trapped beneath the coating during application can cause paint damage over time.

The good news is that if these events occur, the Hermosa Graphene Ceramic coating can be removed by cutting a polishing the car's paintwork and reapplying the coating according to the instructions.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us or if you would prefer a professional detailer to apply the coating for you we can recommend one of the Hermosa partners to help you out.

How to Use Graphene Ceramic Coating

What you will need

  • Hermosa Graphene Ceramic Coating Kit
  • Isopropyl Alcohol (available from most hardware stores) and a spray container

Optional items for optimal preparation.

  • Cut and polish
  • Clay Bar

Step 1

Wash your car using a traditional car wash product. Do not use a car wash with wax or ceramic coatings as this will affect the ability of the ceramic coating to bond to the paintwork.

If the paintwork of the vehicle has heavy contamination or scratches then it may require a cut and polish and or clay bar before cleaning with IPA.

Make sure the car is out of direct sunlight and wind. Applying the coating in a garage and letting it dry inside for at least 24 hours will help prolong the life of the coating.

Step 2

IPA is traditionally a mix of 1 part Isopropyl Alcohol and 2 parts water. This inexpensive and easy-to-make detailing wonder of a product is primarily used to prep the car after polishing to remove the oils left behind from the polish and it sets up the surface before coating. Pour the IPA into a spray bottle for easy application or pour it onto a microfibre cloth and wipe over sections of the car and allow it to dry.

Step 3

Spray the IPA mixture onto the car and wipe away with a microfibre cloth.

The paintwork may look dull after this process but is the wax being removed from the paint that causes the appearance to change.

Step 4

Remove the bottle of Hermosa Graphene Ceramic Coating from the box and install the pourer into the bottle to help manage the flow of coating onto the application block.

Shake the bottle then apply the coating liberally to heavily saturate the application block.

Step 5

Spread the coating in a criss-cross pattern until you have completely covered the section of the car you are working on and add fresh drops frequently. Don’t let the pad dry out.

Step 6

Let the coating sit until it ‘flashes’ (an iridescent almost blue oil-like slick or rainbow appears where the coating has been applied)

Then remove the residue by lightly buffing it with the microfibre towel supplied in the box.
